Pythalmala is a hill station in Kannur district of kerala in India. Pithalmala is the highest geogrphic peak in kannur.It situated about 4500 feet above sea level near the kerala-Karnataka border  and this is part of Western Ghats.It spread over 500 acres of land with dense forest .Travelers can reach kappimala by bus from Kannur or Thaliparampu. Next 3 km can travel using a jeep from Kappimala. Remaining 2 km is to walk .Pythalmala is rich with a lot of water sources and cultivations, which make it us a major tourist attractions of kannur.

Travallers can see all most half of Kannur district from the top and the travelers can enjoy the cool breeze which is a wander full experience.Pythalmala is also rich with number of small  seasonal waterfall and it is a suitable place for trekking and camping.
