Thalassery Fort - Historical Monument
Thalassery Fort is situated in
Kannur District of kerala,India.Thalassery Fort is a historical monument built in 1708 by British East India Company. This fort has a grate roll in the development of Thalassery. In 1781 Hyder Ali, ruler of the kingdom of Mysore,was unsuccessful in capturing the fort due to the highly secret tunnel,huge walls, and elaborately carved doors.
There is highly secret underground caves and hiding places inside the fort.Information gallery present inside the fort exhibits the ancient monuments and ancient paintings.it provide lot of information about the historical base of the fort.
it is now a historical monument preserved by Archaeological Survey of India.
